University of Maryland Medical System is looking for a Human Resource Manager for their Rehabilitation and Orthopaedic Hospital (UM Rehab and Ortho).
As the HR leader for the site, the HR Manager partners closely with the UM Rehab and Ortho executive team to achieve strategic and operational objectives and is a member of the UMMS Senior Human Resources Council. This leader manages employee relations to promote a positive ER culture within the business while minimizing risk, and supervises HR Business Partner (HRBP) and HR Coordinator at this location.
Additional job duties include:
- Responsible for all aspects of conditional offer pre-employment and onboarding of new employees
- Responsible for compliance of all employees related to Annual Training, Flu Vaccination, Licensure, etc, and the critical input into the programs related to the same
- Involved in Compensation-related work such as design of career ladders; consultation, design and implementation of special pay programs; creation/revisions of job descriptions; compensation analysis, issue resolution, etc.
- Involved in Benefits-related work such as open enrollment administration, communication and education of programs and plans, issue investigation and resolution, etc.
- Active participant in HR Policy Standardization and other program standardization which includes input into policy and design, development of processes, communication and education to local facility management teams and staff
- Responsible for the local facility implementation of HR Shared Services Centers of Expertise (COE) initiatives and programs
- Responsible for local HR Chapter responsibilities as related to The Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory agencies
What You Need to Be Successful:
Master’s Degree in human resources, business or related field preferred. May substitute additional experience for education beyond the required bachelor’s degree level. At least five (3) years’ senior level experience in a progressive HR role with emphasis on employee relations required.
